Heat Pumps
Acre Services are able to design, supply and install heat pump systems in the South West, both for the commercial and domestic markets. Using the latest technology available from Mitsubishi Electric, we have carried out a number of installations in offices and domestic homes.
Heat Pumps are an extremely cost effective way of heating rooms. On average, with an energy input of 1kw, they can provide between 3-4kw of heat. This is dependant on the heat source that can be from water (lakes, ponds or river), ground source (pipes buried 1.8m in the earth) or the most common is from the ambient air. Even with air temperatures as low as -10°C, heat can be made available to use in both commercial and domestic environments.
Heat pumps can show 300 to 400% efficiency against conventional gas or oil-fired boilers, with a 35-40% reduction in CO2 emissions. This is an important factor to consider, especially on "new build" commercial premises and also can apply to existing buildings where an extension is over 100 square metres and greater than 25% of the existing building.
Heat pumps can also be used where heating is required from under floor heating to blown air heating from air curtains to water heaters, with the added advantage of reversing the cycle to cooling in the summer.
